Thank God for Dr. Jo Jo Younce with Asheville Brain Training who donated $5,000 in Neurofeedback Therapy for Victoria. One of MANY therapies Robin is using at home.
The cost for neurofeedback is high, however will bring results to improve her condition with consistent use. July 25, 2017 My first blog posting on the site. Every day if filled with so much. Caring for Victoria Faith as she is still in the nursing home. Many of you do not know, but the journey has been crushing. The reason I have not posted on the gofundme.com/victoriafaith site.
Happening now. Victoria needs to be home, being cared for with much love and therapy. I have been advocating on her behalf since the beginning, with little to no support. What I have discovered is mind boggling to say the least. If you are over the age of 22 with severe TBI, they give you no hope. Victoria Faith was 4 months too old. Under the advocacy link you can find more of how people are being neglected and denied help to recover from TBI. Therapies that are not covered by insurance. I need help that is listed under therapies link. The cost is astronomical. The bill so far is just shy of a million dollars in , which nearly 1/4 of it has been paid. More disturbing is over 120,000 has been paid to a nursing home where she gets no therapy. She is laying in the bed about 20 hours a day. I have been desperately trying to get her home and out of this institution. Because Victoria is medically stable, the therapies she needs are not main stream medicine but homeopathic. Dr. Jean-Ronel Corbier (founder of Brain Restoration Clinic) is her Neurologist in Indian Land, SC. We are unable to proceed with his intensive From HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) which is $175 per dive Friday, May 22, 2015, my daughter, Victoria Faith (age 22 years and 4 months) was a pedestrian hit by a car traveling 45+ mph to cross Hendersonville Rd. just before 7 pm. Many details are still unknown and the accident was simply treated as a "fender bender"
Victoria Faith is in the Neuro Trama ICU at Mission Hospital. She has been in a coma and remains unresponsive at this time. There are over 18 hemorrhages in her brain. The neurosurgeon put an ICP monitor in her brain to determine where the pressure is. face & head lacerations, bleeding on the brain a deep cut on the chin w/ several stitches, a broken nose, crushed eye socket, a bruised lung and it knocked out some of her teeth, facial fractures, skull fracture and a hematoma on the left side of head. On a scale of 1-15 with 15 being the best, she is a 6. We are dealing with a lot of "wait and see" The neurosurgeon has told us, we are looking at months of recovery and multiple surgeries on her face. She has no medical insurance at this time. She has a 4 year son, Ronan, that she loves dearly. Her brother Matthew was sent off to boot camp to Parris Island last Sunday, with another 12 weeks left. It is imperative that when all those of us who love & support him, when you write to not discuss Victoria's situation with him. We know Victoria would love him by her side, but she would want him to finish his goal of becoming a Marine. We are setting up a fund to help with expenses etc. if you would like to help. Thank you and Please, please pray & share. Our goal is subject to change. We have no idea what we are dealing with but will keep everyone posted on her progress. |
